Cherry Bomb zine was born out of a small town in New Brunswick by Julie Klukas, a 19-year-old frustrated feminist looking for a way to share her voice with other girls and women who wanted to be heard. Inspired by the Riot Grrrl scene, Cherry Bomb is a place where girls and women can submit their stories, art, poetry and rants, find themselves in the art of others and join together without feeling ashamed, marginalized or discriminated against. Cherry Bomb features submissions from girls and women throughout the world including France, England, the United States and various provinces throughout Canada. Cherry Bomb is also online at cherrybombzine.tumblr.com. Proceeds from Cherry Bomb go towards future printings and enable girls and women who don’t have the resources to purchase a copy to be mailed one free of charge.
